Holly’s mission is to inform, inspire, and empower engaged activists who will change the world. She was previously an editor at The New York Times and a high school teacher. Katherine is a freelance journalist and digital media editor based in Santa Monica, Calif. She can be found tasting microdistillery gin crafted in Washington State, balancing eagle pose at sustainable yoga retreats, or researching women’s entrepreneurship in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Brianna has been working media-ly since 2005, when she left Westfield University in Massachusetts and became the listings editor at an alt-weekly in Hartford. She’s an editor at the Times Union Magazine Division in Albany, N.Y. She has more than 500 Twitter followers, which is nice, and cares very much about news, pop culture, the Internet, gin and tonic and that Vine of this one puppy who keeps falling asleep and smooshing his face on a pillow. Jenny is a freelance writer from Orange County, Calif. and former banana slug, or UC Santa Cruz alum. On the weekends she moonlights at Garlic Jo’s (Thai, Japanese, Italian, Tex-Mex fusion) and likes cooking with friends. During the week she volunteers and attempts to learn French. Jess is wrapping up a stint as a features department intern at Mashable. Her latest project is New Logical, a media site she is helping to launch. While studying Media, Culture, and Communications at NYU, Jessica started “Beyond the Square,” a video production company that interviews professionals in the media industry about their careers and their unique paths to success. Her expertise is in deploying emerging technologies for integrated, targeted media products, from vision to sustainable operations. She has experience with start-ups, Fortune 500 companies and non-profits and is fluent in Ukrainian.
Kathryn is a marketing, branding, and revenue strategist and business leader with experience working in media, entertainment, technology and social enterprises with a passion for the consumer and user experience. She has held multifunctional positions in business development and brand strategy with major media companies as well as with tech-based startups, and her expertise is uncovering new opportunities for properties and advertisers that drive engagement, acquisition, partnerships and sales.
