Here are some powerful images coming out of the Charlotte protests

After the fatal police shooting of Keith Scott, a black man who was apparently unarmed, protests broke out in Charlotte, North Carolina.

While violent demonstrations spilled onto the streets, here are some the images coming out from the city, including one of Henry Lee, 51, who silently refused to leave his chair, drawing a comparison to civil rights protester and leader Rosa Parks.

He was dubbed the "calmest man in Charlotte" by the photographer:

Another powerful image is of a woman kneeling and facing the police.

Then there's this one.

Here are some other images from the protests and riots that went on for the second night too.

The intense demonstrations on September 21st also saw a man get critically wounded by a gunshot and 44 people arrested. Sadly, he died in the hospital.
