Joss Whedon got the Avengers together to get you to vote
Joss Whedon and stars from The Avengers assembled to send a very important message to voters asking them to register so they could vote. Actors like Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle -- along with other A-listers like Leslie Odom Jr., Nathan Fillion and Stanley Tucci, to name a few -- got together for the star-studded video.
Hey! Did I miss anything? Lol jk the world is on fire ? here's a thing I made https://t.co/g1SE45Rkrv

Whedon's launched a super PAC "Save the Day" and their missions is to get people to vote, hence the video, which also kinda sorta supports Hillary Clinton. Whedon insists it's about getting people to participate in the democratic process:
“It’s about targeting people who either aren’t going to vote or have been anesthetized out of voting — fighting the sort of apathy and cynicism that says, ‘It doesn’t matter if I vote.’”
The video did get people talking.

I definitely agree that everyone should vote BUT I'm not into the fact that we are coerced into voting for Hillary.https://t.co/1O3WtnIDAV

I understand why Joss Whedon did it but come on, anyone considering voting for Trump will not be swayed by Holywood Millionaires #SaveTheDay

During the 2012 elections, Whedon asked people to not vote for Mitt Romney.
