John McLaughlin is dead. Here’s who he was.
John McLaughlin died today. If you’re not sure who he is or was, here’s what you need to know:
The 89-year-old TV host had a pretty rich life: He was a Roman Catholic priest who became an aide to President Nixon and then scored his own show, called “The McLaughlin Group.” That ran on Sunday mornings and was famous for featuring heated political debates between pundits.
McLaughlin died from prostate cancer. He missed his show last weekend — for the first time in 34 years. Dude was committed.
Here’s a clip from his show. Volume warning: There’s lots of yelling.
