George W. Bush awkwardly danced for slain police officers
President Barack Obama, alongside former President George W. Bush, visited Dallas to speak at a memorial service for the five slain police officers.
During the service, the Battle Hymn of the Republic was played and George W. just couldn't help but smile and dance while he held First Lady Michelle Obama's hand.

Seriously. Look at his face. And that sway.
— The Gulf Today (@thegulftoday) July 13, 2016
Seriously, I dance less at weddings than George Bush does at funerals.

Many people witnessed his bopping and swaying and were confused, to say the least.
George Bush smiling and dancing during the singing at the #DallasMemorial ? I wonder how hard Laura was squeezing his hand to stop

George Bush trying to turn up at the Dallas Cop's funeral. Somebody check his Blood Alcohol Level.

And for the love of God, why is George Bush trying to dance to a hymn.

LAURA: George, be on your best behavior.
GEORGE: Of course I will!
LAURA: No dancing.

Bush's spokesman Freddy Ford said that GWB was just moved by the music:
"I hope they can open their hearts to the history and text of The Battle Hymn of the Republic; the finale song that moved him so ... was selected to conclude the memorial because it is a joyful, spiritual, triumphant song."
Some people found it, well, kind of rude:

George Dubya lost his damn mind. This is at a FUNERAL https://t.co/nQC2mA2F30

@CBCNews if it was a memorial for one of my loved ones, I'd find this inappropriate.

But others just used GWB's awkward moment to bust jokes:
I think George Bush showed great restraint by not marching in place while dancing to the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like you're George W. Bush at a police officer's memorial.
— Clue Heywood (@ClueHeywood) July 13, 2016
It's like George Bush has convinced himself that he is Will Ferrell playing George Bush.

"You heard it here first, gang. There's a new dance craze called 'The Dubya'- you shimmy and twist at public memorial services"- Larry King

@Luvvie omg luvvie did u see FLOTUS put her hand on him and smile like "If you don't stop. right. now." LOLOLOL
— Your Friend Peech (@_peech) July 13, 2016
And FLOTUS Shellie had that grip on Dubya and looked like she was thinking "Fix it, Jesus." It is priceless. Dubya is a grown toddler.

Say what you want about George W Bush but watch him during the memorial service for the five cops and try to tell me the man is not genuine.

Here's the raw footage of him busting a move:
