#TropicalStormColin is headed to Florida

There is Tropical Storm Colin. (NASA)

Tropical Storm Colin has strengthened in the Gulf of Mexico and is headed towards parts of Florida and the Southeast with heavy rain for Monday and Tuesday.

Colin will bring in a lot of rain and the possibility of flooding. This is especially because it is an early storm (tropical storms usually hit later in to the summer), and isn't as tight or compact as later storms. You can see from the satellite image of Colin that it is more like a mess of clouds rather than a compact cyclone.

Colin is the third earliest named storm, but it is not completely unrealistic for tropical storms to form in late May and early June.

Florida Governor Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency for most of the counties in the state, and the impacts from the storm are already hitting the area.
