This weekend is Memorial Day, a time to remember those who gave their lives to the US military. It is also a time to honor active-duty service members and American vets.

Alix Idrache, who graduated from US Military Academy earlier this week, is one of those service members. A photo of him crying at his West Point graduation has gone viral.

No greater feeling than that of accomplishment! #DutyHonorCountry (@usarmy photo by: Staff Sgt. Vito T. Bryant)

What is perhaps more touching than the photo, is Idrache's response to the sudden attention. He graciously thanked the photographer, Army Staff Sgt. Vito T. Bryant.

"I could not help but be flooded with emotions knowing that I will be leading these men and women who are willing to give their all to preserve what we value as the American way of life.

To me, that is the greatest honor. Once again, thank you."
